
Overview
Fund for Our Economic Future works to make Northeast Ohio’s economy more equitable, sustainable, and resilient. With a growing awareness that the region faced a critical crossroads, The Fund sought to better communicate the economic implications of inaction—and galvanize both public and private leaders around collaborative solutions.
TWIST partnered with Fund for Our Economic Future to develop a bold and cohesive communications platform—one that could bring clarity to complex data, urgency to economic challenges, and vision to possible futures. What started as a branding engagement evolved into a multi-year partnership, encompassing strategy, naming, reports, campaigns, and digital engagement.
Goal
Develop a cross-sector brand strategy to drive engagement, education, and support for systemic economic change through increasing visibility and using a clear call-to-action for the region’s leaders.

Solution
In 2022, TWIST began by reworking Fund for Our Economic Future’s brand strategy and identity, laying the groundwork for a revitalized public presence. This included an updated logo system and messaging framework that better reflected the organization’s collaborative, catalytic role.
We then developed the Two Tomorrows Report, a clear-eyed analysis of two paths Northeast Ohio could take: one toward inclusive growth and another toward continued stagnation. This report became the cornerstone of a wider Brand Awareness Campaign, which we designed and launched in 2023 to reach funders, policymakers, and business leaders. TWIST created refreshed collateral and communication tools to support this rollout, including campaign materials, pitch decks, and animated visuals. We also updated key elements of the brand’s color system and identity, ensuring consistency across channels.
In parallel, TWIST continued supporting Fund for Our Economic Future’s Paradox Prize, a program designed to award innovative solutions to the region’s workforce transportation challenges. TWIST named and branded the initiative and developed the communications to bring it to life.
Results
- Successful public launch of the Two Tomorrows Report, used in regional leadership briefings and policy discussions
- Increased funder confidence and strategic alignment through consistent brand messaging
- Strengthened brand recognition among cross-sector stakeholders (public, private, nonprofit)
- Expanded visibility for the Paradox Prize, resulting in new rounds of submissions and community-led solutions
- Delivered updated identity system with clearer visual standards and audience relevance



Transforming Lives and Northeast Ohio’s Economy
Too many Northeast Ohioans face a critical paradox: They don’t have a car, so they can’t get a job. And since they can’t get a job, they don’t have a car. In June 2019, the Fund for Our Economic Future set out to solve this chicken-and-egg challenge with up to $1 million in funding to support new and innovative ways to connect people to jobs and employers to the talent they need.
