A High School Sub-Brand with a More Youthful Spirit.
TWIST helped St. Ignatius, a century old Cleveland Catholic high school reposition its brand to meet the shifting needs of the community. When enrollment pressures related to feeder schools and shifting community demographics mounted, the TWIST team helped build key messages for alumni, parents and students focused on ensuring strong enrollment for another decade.
The ongoing success of the school heightened its need for expanding its campus and finding new ways to diversify its graduating classes while still finding the capacity to meet growing demand from suburban families.
To serve the school’s greater mission and Ignatian heritage, leadership sought to create opportunities and pathways for a new generation of students to benefit from the capabilities of one of the nation’s top Catholic high schools. St. Ignatius converted a historic building on its campus to serve middle school boys from diverse backgrounds.
TWIST worked closely with the client’s marketing and brand team to build a brand identity and message platform for The Welsh Academy. Established in 2019 as part of Saint Ignatius High School, The Welsh Academy is a Catholic all-boys school for grades 6-8 in the City of Cleveland.
“The TWIST identity design team built the new Welsh Academy identity by working backwards from the visual standards we built for the parent brand to ensure a smart and complementary fit,” said Connie Ozan, TWIST's Chief Design Officer. “To bring a sense of youth and new beginnings to the expression of the brand we expanded outward from the original color palette to find a spirit appropriate to the brand.”
